SHELLEY JAMES is a singer/songwriter/recording artist who grew up singing with her family vocal SATB quartet and in church. She was in every school/community choir, variety show and musical that was happening. She fell in love with 80s popular & rock music on the radio in her teens. Her family being from Canada led them to tour Western Canada ’84-’85 with their gospel quartet in the summers before leaving for college. A couple years after graduating college, Shelley picked up the guitar and started writing and recording original songs and arranging cover songs with her own unique twist. She formed her first band, where she would later meet her husband/bass player, Eugene native, Callan Coleman. They married in 1994 and have been a musical duo writing/recording/performing/leading worship ever since. Shelley has also led worship music at various churches over the years, including directing the music department at a creative arts church in Los Angeles for a few years. While living there she recorded one of her original albums in 2005 at Universal Music Group Publishing studios with a Grammy award winning producer. Shelley enjoys collaborating and leading her bands and producing shows in the community at large. She has 3 bands: DUO: Shelley & Callan, Satin Love Orchestra, an 11 member disco/funk band, and her 80s classic rock/pop/originals band AGENTS OF UNITY. They have one daughter, Eva Coleman, 15, who now sings background vocals in their bands, and is a blossoming artist herself in music, acting and dance. Shelley loves singing with Eva, cats, traveling, golfing, hiking, spending time with family and friends and rehearsing with her band mates.
